Karum Cooper is the artist project and brainchild of a Cornwall-based multi-instrumentalist and producer.
A project rich in influences across the musical spectrum that encompasses a world of several other genre-spanning projects that include Webmoms, Webmoms Live Ensemble and Horace Maurice.
A music obsessive and multi-talented artist, Cooper’s journey to date has provided him with the tools for an outstanding solo career. He first carved his name into the industry as the guitarist for alt-rock band Hypophora.
Spring 2020, Karum wanted to explore his own artistic journey; kickstarted with collaborations with LoFi Hip Hop giant ‘Delayde‘ – their track Sundew’ surpassed 1.5 million streams to date. Webmoms as a solo entity was officially launched that year with his debut ‘Ruchikar’ EP.
“Sprawling passages of jazz-infused indie tumble into soulful spoken word stints with a breezy elegance. It’s an experimental sound that manages to keep a slickness and shape.”
“A smouldering, sultry offering that weaves together threads of jazz, neo-soul, R&B and hip-hop.”
“Matching his skills as a guitarist with lo-fi drums and beautiful jazz motifs, his debut EP Ruchikar is a window into his far-reaching musical talents and the influences that have paved the way until now.”
"Hey all. Thanks for making it to my website. Somehow you've stumbled here and I thank you for making it this far!
My name is Karum, I'm a musician/producer based in Cornwall, South West UK. I make instrumental, jazz infused hip hop and neo soul beats under the moniker 'Webmoms'
Recently, my artistic journey has taken an exciting turn as I delve further into the realms of poetry and lyricism. These spoken word expressions have become the cornerstone of a fresh and eponymous project, slated to emerge in 2024. In this endeavor, my spoken word musings and babbling vocals weave into the fabric of Webmoms beats, creating a unique fusion of sound and soul.
I also share my creations with the world through live performances with the 'Webmoms Live Ensemble.' An eight-piece band reimagining the existing Webmoms & Karum Cooper catalog with a organic jazz-fusion twist. We've also begun writing as a collective live outfit - with a debut EP on the horizon for 2024. This adds a whole new element to the wider Webmoms sonic experience.
Join me on this musical and poetic journey, where beats, words, and melodies converge. Stay tuned for the unveiling of this artistic venture."
